LONG TIME NO POST MUCH!  This posting is multi-purpose:  to say ‘howdy’ to all our friends and family out there and to catch up a bit, as we’ve been flat-out in recent weeks and months and haven’t had much time for internet activism or communication.

This is a two-part thing. The first part will share with you a bit about what Liesbet and I were doing at this time last year, living on Flinders Island, Tasmania, with no electricity, doing massive amounts of hard work purely for the love of life, growing our own food and creating our ‘Mother Earth Temple’ and making a full-on effort not only to survive but to thrive in the absence of any outside civilization.

The second part will share with you a bit about what Liesbet’s been doing in Belgium visiting her family for the last three months, and what I’ve been doing in Australia during this same time.

In a second posting coming up I would like to share the art and creativity of Liesbet…the most beautiful and talented dolphin-goddess I’ve ever known and with whom it’s been my unique honour and privilege to share the past five years on an awesome journey of power, beauty and creativity…and the exposition "Love in Life" she’s having on Saturday 13 October near Brussels, before she returns to Australia the next week.

THIS TIME LAST YEAR

Last year we lived on a remote property owned by our old friend Arne ‘Balarni’ Erickson, a place we’d visited for six weeks in the (austral) summer of 2009, did a massive amount of art and gardening, made our very first medicine wheel, and then made a film about it, ‘The Chronicles of Balarnia.’

In 2011 we were able to stay for a little over four months, during which time we engaged in THE most absolutely full-on yet totally and beautifully harmonious ‘way of living’ that is possible for us to imagine.  Because we had total freedom to do anything we wanted…the place was essentially ‘our own’ for the time we were there…we went crazy with work and creativity that would not have been possible anywhere else.  Because of our deep connections with the land, ancestors and indigenous peoples of Australia as well as our dedication and commitment to working for Mother Nature and ‘keeping the faith’ of the ‘people of one heart’, we were able to exert ourselves in ways that most people would think were impossible.  We maintained a pattern of rising well before dawn, working extremely hard doing all kinds of physical work like digging, building gardens, clearing under-growth, cutting and hauling fire-wood, and gathering materials for our Mother Earth Temple, including at least a metric ton of sand and over 1000 rocks.  We had at least ten gardens going of various kinds, and keeping all the wild-life and chooks out was always a chore.  The Mother Earth Temple was on-going for the entire time we were there, and we just completed it and ‘activated’ it a few days before we had to leave.

Our months there were the most special, powerful and precious times that Liesbet and I have ever had, and our dream is to return there or somewhere similar to live in this kind of way, with no electricity, drinking rain-water, growing our own food, and living in the way that the Great Spirit intended for humans to live.

Two interesting ‘coincidences’ were seeing dolphins on the day of the Egyptian New Year, 23 July, when we’d just ‘raised the Djed’ pillar in the crown chakra position of what was then our newest medicine wheel, and that just about the exact day that we finished the Mother Earth Temple was around the date that some researchers said was actually the ‘end’ of the Mayan calendar cycle:  28 October 2011.  Everything we were doing seemed to be in perfect harmony with the universe at every level. We felt as if what we were doing was a testament to the true spark of divinity which is our nature as human beings, a beacon of the true ‘love in life’ that Liesbet and I share and live by.

In addition to our work and creative projects at the ‘homestead’ we also did quite a few wilderness excursions around Flinders Island. Our favourite place was a huge rock formation called ‘Old Man’s Head’, or ‘Omahu’ as we liked to call him. Climbing on him we spotted hump-back whales breaching, and walking back along the beach we encountered one of the most amazing ‘storm beings’ we’ve ever seen…a huge cloud formation of beautiful and intense colours came over the horizon and filled the sky above us…awe-inspiring!

THIS TIME THIS YEAR

In June Liesbet and I departed from our beloved Great Barrier Island, New Zealand after 7 weeks there and six months in New Zealand, escorted by an entourage of amazing rainbows or ‘aniwaniwas’ as the ancient Waitaha people call her.  A brilliant double rainbow greeted us when we arrived there, and another brilliant double one appeared the day we left.  Rainbows also escorted us through the airport and we even saw one out the window of the plane!

And they have been our constant companions all through the past three months.  In particular, I’ve seen many brilliant ‘aniwaniwas’ that would literally appear at specific moments just as I stepped out of a bus or left a train station…very much a form of communication from Mother Earth to let us know she is there and watching over us!

During the past three months I’ve visited friends in a few different areas, including Empire Bay south of Newcastle; Goonengerry, in the Wollumbin volcanic caldera near Byron Bay; at Yandoit, near Daylesford and Castlemaine in western Victoria; in Preston, a suburb of Melbourne, as well as house-sitting in Wheelers Hill and Caulfield.  I’ve spent most of the past few weeks living at a really special ‘back-packer/eco-hostel’ called Tim’s Place in Halls Gap in the Grampians, or Gariwerd National Park.  There I found a lot of support and was able to do a large amount of art, as well as build our ninth medicine wheel, which was the first that had a circle of herbs, veggies and flowers all around it.

Liesbet has been visiting her family in Belgium for the first time in four years, which has been really good for her and for them. And it's been powerful in a neo-shamanic way that she's brought all the special energies and connections that we've gathered 'down under' up to the northern hemisphere.

This time has not always been easy for me, as this is the first time we’ve been apart for more than a few hours in the last four years; but it’s been essential to spend some time apart, and it’s been fantastic for Liesbet to see her old friends and mom, dad, brothers and sisters.

She has also been able to do a bit of wilderness adventure, visiting some beautiful forests and country-side at places called Hony and Esneux, bicycling along the Ourthe river, and visiting the largest tree in Belgium, a huge sequoia around 45 meters tall.  In addition, Liesbet’s been able to document the more-or-less constant spraying of chem-trails in the skies over Leuven and Brussells.  She’s had quite a few beautiful sunny clear days but of the ‘clear’ days when it hasn’t been raining, there’s been perhaps a greater number of days with chem-trail-filled skies.  She’s basically been staying with her dad, although she’s gotten to house-sit and visit here and there as well, but at her dad’s place, she’s getting hit with numerous wi-fi signals from the neighbouring apartments.  Liesbet’s particularly sensitive to EMR pollution, and I’ve worried about her being in the northern hemisphere, and particularly western Europe, with one of the highest concentrations of nuclear power on the planet, for so long.  But I know she’s ok, every ‘aniwaniwa’ has assured me of this!

Interestingly, our great friend Simon has become extremely ‘electromagnetically aware’ in recent years.  He and his partner Manique have installed shielding in their apartment to protect them from emanations from the electrical substation below their house. Simon has let me borrow his ‘electro-smog’ meter…I’ve been going around Melbourne taking readings.  Some of the highest I’ve obtained have been from modems and mobile phones…spikes up to as high as 250 milli-watts/square meter, as opposed to an average 'back-ground' reading in the range of a few tens of thousandths of a milli-watt/square meter.  Luckily I’ve been able to be in wi-fi free environments for almost all of the time I’ve been back in Australia.

In recent weeks both Liesbet and I have been flat-out working on various art projects.  I’m working on a set of painted wooden sea-creatures, a painted metal milk-can, and some smaller paintings and rocks.  And Liesbet is working on a variety of paintings, rocks, dream-catchers, mirrors and other art-works for an exposition entitled 'Love in Life' she’s having on Saturday 13 October at a near-by town called Vorst.  Her great old friend Anne’s mom owns a space there where they’re setting up the show, and Liesbet’s framed several of her early older paintings as well as working on several totally new ones specially for this expo.  She’s also showing a joint painting that I started and she’s finishing, with two owls and a full moon, as well as having several framed prints of some of her amazing nature photography. MANY thanks to Anne and her mom for showing such awesome support to Liesbet ☺

If you happen to be in that part of Belgium weekend after next, please drop by.  Proceeds from art sales go to our ‘surviving in Australia’ fund as well as towards our ‘beyond film’ about the whales and dolphins, our biggest and most challenging project as the ‘ultimate creative team.’

We’re not sure of our plan when Liesbet comes back in a couple weeks, but I do know that I am feeling a tremendous calling from the whales and dolphins whose lives are becoming harder and harder as each week goes by with more and more seismic exploration for hydro-carbons and military-industrial activities running out of control across the world’s oceans.

I’ve never been in a real relationship like this before and I’ve never so deeply and thoroughly loved anyone in my life so much as I do Liesbet.  Our course is uncharted and when you're talking about the creative synergy that we share, anything is possible.  I realize that our time apart has been necessary and essential, and I think it has empowered us both and it’s made me VASTLY aware of just how absolutely special she is as my ‘ultimate creative partner.’  Time apart is essential; I am certain that our real 'big picture' adventure together has only just begun…a journey of unlimited possibility, unbounded creativity, beauty, power, sharing and the true sense of wonder, our very real ‘liefde in leven’, our ‘love in life’ that shines on us always.

Because of doing so much all the time, we’re still a bit behind in some thing, in particular, our film-making projects. Liesbet has a degree in film-editing and she's been in charge of the technical side of these projects; but when she comes back from Belgium she's going to be giving me some instruction on Final Cut so that I can help to bear this burden myself:) Our plan is to make a ‘Cryo’ film for every year, but we’ve only made Cryo 2008 so far.  We’d also like to make the state-of-the-art film about Great Barrier Island, tentatively entitled 'Cryotea Dreaming: Barrier to Beauty' as well as a film about the intensive and magical four months we spent on Flinders Island last year.  These experiences we’ve had are powerful and unique, and deserve to be shared as testaments to what two people living in love and light can really do if they ask it of themselves.  We have been a part of many miracles, and they don’t seen to be letting up.

We are making a BIG PUSH asking the universe to help us with our flow of art commissions, not only to help us survive, or thrive even, but to help to finance our ‘beyond film’ which is the greatest challenge to our combined creativity that we’ve yet attempted.  Liesbet and I are the only two people on Mothership Earth who can make this happen.  Help us ‘fight this good fight’ won’t you?

Well, I’d better go and work on some art work!

Cheers for now and may the Great Spirit smile on you always.  And a big THANK YOU to all our friends, family, ancestors and mitakuye oyasin for making us possible.

LIVE SIMPLY SO THAT OTHERS MAY SIMPLY LIVE.
